Wrong policies cost cash

Thousands of motorcyclists are wasting hundreds of pounds by insuring two bikes on separate policies instead of getting a multi-bike policy to cover both, according to leading bike insurance firm Bennetts.

Around 200,000 UK riders own more than one bike, and many of them could be wasting around £150 a year by insuring them separately, meaning the total money wasted could run into tens of millions, a Benetts spokesman said last week.

The firm is conducting research to establish a definitive figure. “We’re hoping to go through the policies, find the people who have got two and approach them to offer them a new quote,” the spokesman said.
