Bike registrations up

Motorcycle registrations are up on last year. Figures run from July to July and have shown a three percent increase.

The biggest difference in categories showed that custom bike registrations were up 22% making it the biggest increase over the year. Sports bikes also rose, as they generally do.

There were only two categories that dropped in the same period, the first being mopeds and scooters and the other being adventure sport.

The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) has stated that the ‘Ewan and Charley’ effect has started to wear off. Although sales are up on 2004 they have fallen by 29% since July 2005.
