1 of 1

BMW has released the first pictures of the new F800S twin-cylinder ahead of the official launch at the Milan Motorcycle Show in November.

The bike is powered by the first twin-cylinder in-line engine in BMW’s history, with the 800cc parallel-twin produceed in cooperation with Bombardier-Rotax. It has a high compression ratio and a combustion chamber based on that of the K1200S to give over 80bhp and plenty of torque.

The bike is belt-drive, and the aim is for a comfortable and ergonomic machine with a new suspension system, optional ABS and a claimed dry weight of under 190kg.

We’ll bring you all the news on the new BMW in the run-up to the Milan launch, but in the meantime, see the 2006 bikes already on view at Paris, here.
