Gus Scott Auction details

A large number of motorcycling stars have pledged items and will attend the Gus Scott Auction, in memory of the late motorcycle racer and journalist.

Neil Hodgson hopes to be at the event, alongside Jamie Whitham, Niall Mackenzie, John McGuinness, Dean Ellison and Martin Finnegan. Other stars to confirm include Michael Rutter, Karl Harris and Leon Haslam.

Ian ‘Gus’ Scott died during the Senior race at the 2005 Isle of Man TT and the auction will raise money to be left in a trust fund for his 10-year-old daughter, Yasmin.

Items for auction include a Buell Lightning CityX bike, kit from racers including Colin Edwards, Marco Melandri, James Toseland, Chris Walker, Michael Rutter, John McGuinness and Glen Richards, a set of Noriyuki Haga’s leathers, VIP race tickets and signed helmets from the WSB and MotoGP championships.

The auction will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2005, from 5pm till late at Club Amadeus in Northallerton. Entry is £3, with half going to the trust fund, and the other £1.50 going to the North Yorkshire Road Racing Supporters Club to support young bike racers.
