BBC test mobile cameras

1 of 1

Mobile speed cameras aren’t always accurate, according to a BBC investigation airing tonight, Monday, October 3, 2005.

The Inside Out programme has used an American model of the LTI 20.20 camera and found that there is a margin for error. Police and the manufacturers of the camera claim these errors won’t occur in England because the cameras use different software, but wouldn’t let the BBC test a UK version. And with around 3,500 mobile cameras int he country, that’s a bit worrying, particularly as the number is set to rise futher by the end of the year.

The BBC Inside Out investigation into mobile cameras will be broadcast to the South, and West regions on Monday, October 3, 2005 at 7.30pm.
