Honda pledge on parts

Honda is cutting the cost of parts and hopes other firms will follow.

The firm says the move is aimed at reducing the number of write-offs, making motorcycling more affordable for all.

Cost of parts is a prime cause for the high number of write-offs by insurance companies each year. In turn, that results in rocketing premiums.

“People are walking away from biking because of write-offs. We’re dropping some prices to keep people on the road and keep them buying Hondas,” said parts manager Keith Hanson.

Honda says the parts price cuts will apply to those most often replaced in services and those which most often cause a bike to be written off.
