State sues Yamaha

The state of California is taking Yamaha and two of its dealers to court, sueing them for $19.6m dollars over the import of 400 motorcycles which it will contest did not meet California’s air-pollution rules.

According to the website of the Sacremento Bee (click here , external link) the California Air Resources Board is bringing the action against Yamaha Motor Corp. USA and dealerships in San Jose and Honolulu.

Yamaha’s comments have yet to be reported.
