The mag got access to amazing telemetry read-outs of a highside, which show the battle between man and machine as Nobuatsu Aoki gets highsided off his Proton MotoGP bike – and even though he reacts within 0.1s of realising there’s a ‘situation’, it’s not fast enough and he gets spat off.

The feature also shows the forces at work in a highside, which at times are equivalent to more than the entire weight of the bike being slammed down on the rear suspension within just a few hundredths of a second.
