Now is best time to buy

The huge discounts on new and used bikes that we’ve seen this year look set to get smaller so now is the time to grab the last of the bargains.

Slow sales in 2004 are forcing dealers to offer huge discount on new bikes, which in turn has cut the value of used bikes. Next year manufacturers look likely to restrict the supply of new bikes hoping to keep demand high and reduce the need for big price cuts.

A look through MCN BikeMart reveals there are still some very good deals to be had on both new and used bikes. Ducati Aylesbury is clearing its stock of 998 and 996 bikes with as much as £1000 off. They have also got the last of the special edition 998 Matrix bikes for £9999.

Cusworths in Doncaster and Sheffield is offering one per cent finance on all new bikes as well as big discounts across it’s entire range of used bikes including £700 of a 2001 CBR600F, an ‘04 GSX-R600 with £600 off at £5595 and £1500 off an MV Agusta F4.

On Yer Bike in Ayelsbury have got big discounts on new bikes including £2000 off Moto Guzzis, £1500 off the Aprilia Caponord and £1000 off the Aprilia Falco. They will even give you a Benelli Tornado for £7999, that’s £4200 off.

KJM Superbikes in Wigan has got a Ducati 900 Sport for just £3999 while a new Honda CBR600RR will cost you £5899. A Susuki DR-Z400E will set you back just £3499.

If you want a more involving experience while looking for your next bike then there are two open days to get down to this weekend. South Essex Motorcycles in Grays will have Yamaha BSB riders Steve Plater and Tommy Hill on site on Saturday and Sunday to meet fans and sign autographs, while at Giant Motorcycles at Brands Hatch you’ll see Jamie Whitham and the MCN babe squad, get free food and drink and take a part in a rider training school.
