Ducati sport cruiser due for summer

A radical new Ducati ‘sport cruiser’ will make its official debut in the States this summer.

Built by Arizona-based designer and race car maker Mark Savory, it is based on a Ducati Monster and uses the new DS1000 Ducati engine. A spokesman said, it could be made for a ” very affordable price should it be put into limited production by Savory or mass produced by a manufacturer like Ducati. ”

Savory’s firm, MotoCreations will show the finished bike for the first time at the LA Calendar Motorcycle Show on July 17 and 18.

The firm’s spokesman added: ” Most Ducati and custom Harley owners are affluent enough to have more than one bike in their garage, and many owners have bikes from both genres. However, the current motorcycle cruiser market has little to offer in a bike with the attributes and advantages of both genres: a cool-looking cruiser for bike night with your buddies and cruisin’ the strip, along with the performance, reliability and sound of a V-Twin production based sports bike. ”
