Diesel recall row

1 of 1

A diesel van maker is refusing to issue a recall despite users warning that its fuel tanks need reinforcing to prevent spills.

Iveco changed the design of its Daily van in April this year – raising the height of its diesel tank to stop it being battered. Until that point reinforcements were required. But thousands are out there without modification and the firm won’t recall them. It’s been on sale since 2001.

A spokesman for the firm said diesel spills only occurred in extreme circumstances and that it was: “not a major concern.”
