Honda launches cut-price cover

1 of 1

Honda is claiming it can cut the cost of your insurance after launching its own insurance company.

Honda Insurance goes live this morning (Monday, February 23) and is available to all owners of Honda machines.

It says it will beat rival quotes for all riders, as long as you meet certain criteria on age, riding experience and where your bike is kept.

It’s launching with a £300 saving deal for owners of VFR800s and Hornet 900s which were purchased new from dealers.

The firm says the scheme is designed to make Hondas more attractive to buyers, rather than being there to make a profit.

Honda’s head of commercial operations Matthew Stone told MCN: ” The cost of insurance is a barrier stopping many people from buying a bike. We are removing that barrier. ”

It claims it differs from most manufacturer insurance deals because it is a partnership with an underwriter rather than a broker, cutting out the middle man.

To see if it makes your insurance cheaper, call Honda Insurance on 08700-780101. An online service will be available in a few weeks.

If you get a good deal, tell us about it by posting a message on the Insurance message board, located in Services.
