The Harley-Davidson UK competition to find the Best Sportster 2004 goes into its final round next weekend with 14 UK contenders battling it out with the best of Europe.

The final, on September 4, is at European Bike Week in Faaker See, Austria. The winning bike’s owner will get a new Sportster to ride off on.

The event includes stunt shows, fashion shows, ride-outs and music and is expected to attract 60,000 people.

To compete in Austria the finalists had to progress through two rounds of judging. The ‘Do You Own A Legend?’ competition kicked off in May and invited all Sportster owners in the UK to celebrate Harley-Davidson’s longest-running model family.

The 14 UK finalists are:

Paul Thomas – Sedlescombe, East Sussex

Sandy Page – Tilbury, Essex

Jane Newman – Farnham, Surrey

Christine Wilkinson – Wolverhampton

John Turner – Bishop Auckland, County Durham

Kevin Crossley – Highcliffe, Dorset

David Patmore – Walthamstow, London

David Perryman – Leeds

Billy Pearce – West Dulwich, London

Kelvin Cramp – Essex

Eileen O’Grady – Doncaster, Yorkshire

Patricia Moss – Reading

Martin Clohisey – Norfolk

Gary Ingham – Bradford, West Yorkshire
