Trail style bikes are very popular with learners with new Honda XL125 Varaderos selling very well. There are several in our BIKES FOR SALE section, like this 2002 model with 3600 miles on the clock for £2550. But if you want a bike that can take you off road as well as get you round town then at Yamaha DT125R for £1995 might be a better choice.

But if all you want is a basic bike to learn the ropes on, the good old Honda CG125 has proven reliability and you can get one like this 2002 model for just £1195 with only 1050 miles on it.

Check out our BIKES FOR SALE for the widest selection of quality used bikes.

You might be restricted to 125cc when you’re a learner but there’s still a world of choice when it comes to buying that first bike.

Whether you fancy a custom-style, or a trail bike you can tackle a bit of off road on as well as use for the commute to work, there are loads of choices in our BIKES FOR SALE section from as little as £1000.

If a custom-style bike is what you’re after there is a very shiney Yamaha XVS 125 Dragstar. It’s got 9000 miles on the clock but it has been kept very clean so could be a bargain at just £1200.

For £1000 more you could have a Suzuki VL125 Intruder with just 2000 miles on it, or a 2001 Gilera Coguar with 6400 miles for £1495 .

If you want something a bit more sporty there are plenty of Aprilia RS125s to choose from, like this 9000 mile 2002 bike that’s up for £2275. But the Aprilias always hold their value so if you’re looking for something a bit cheaper then you could try this low mileage Yamaha TZR125 for £1899 and get the benefit of R1 styling as well.
