World’s greatest stoppie

MCN reader Matt Goodall must have wondered what was happening when these roadworks loomed out of the darkness.

Fortunately, Matt was thrown onto a pile of earth beside the hole, but his Suzuki SV650 wasn’t quite so lucky. Only the steel mesh fence stopped the bike being swallowed up completely, and it took a crane to lift the Suzuki back out again.

Luckily, both rider and bike appear at this stage to have got away with bruising and cosmetic damage.
