Government legal advisor caught speeding

1 of 1

Harriet Harman, the solicitor general, has been stopped by police for travelling at 99mph in a 70mph zone in Wiltshire.

The Attorney General’s office said that Harman would plead guilty at the ” first available opportunity ” . Apparently ” Harriet Harman is very sorry that she exceeded the speed limit. She full recognises that she should have paid more attention to the speed at which she was travelling. ”

In her role as solicitor general, Harman is one of three UK legal officers reporting to parliament.
