It might be a bit early for you to be planning a trip to Scarborough Bike Week in September, but the Duke of Edinburgh has already announced he’ll be attending for the final day on September 21.

He will be attending as the patron of the ACU, presenting the Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup, and meeting the riders prior to the race.

” The ACU are thrilled that our patron, the Duke of Edinburgh, has accepted our invitation. He will be visiting one of our bigger Centenary events and we are confident Scarborough International Bike Week will be a great success, ” said Neil Hellings, Chief Executive of the ACU.

2003 is the centenary of the ACU and celebratory events are planned throughout the year. Scarborough Bike Week includes the Vintage Festival of 1000 Bikes, Beach racing, Supermoto, Trials, Hill Climbs and Sprints.
