Make finding parking a lot easier

1 of 1

With the introduction of congestion charging in London on February 17, the likelihood is that the number of two wheelers on the road in London is going to increase. Inevitably the already limited parking spaces are going to become a lot more crowded.

Wouldn’t it make life much easier if you knew where all the parking spaces were and could find another if the one you wanted was full to bursting. Traffic wardens can be ruthless if you’re even an inch outside the marked bay.

Cities like Leeds and Birmingham, both with a dedicated motorcycling policy, have been publishing maps of available parking for bikes for some time, but that information doesn’t seem to be too forthcoming from our friendly London authority.

Seizing the opportunity Piaggio has teamed up with Public Information Exchange (PIE) to publish a booklet that contains all the free and discounted parking spaces for bikes on a map of the congestion-charging zone. Although this will be a very useful little guide, at £2.50 it is a touch more expensive than the free guides published elsewhere.

What we at motorcyclenews.com want to do is build a comprehensive guide to parking in the Capital and other major cities around the country as well. Obviously there are official lists of available spaces but we thought what better wealth of knowledge is there than the people that use those spaces every day. So send us some info on the spaces that you know about and we will compile the list and show you all the ones you didn’t know were there.

Send an email to daniel.thornton@emap.com detailing exactly where you park, how many spaces there are, is it official or not, and if you have to pay, how much.
