Hear the sound of the Honda Six

1 of 1

Here is you chance to listen to one of the most recognisable engine sounds in the history of motorcycle racing – the Honda Six.
The six cylinder, six piped 250cc GP bike is the stuff of legend. Mike Hailwood described it as the best bike he’d ever ridden, and even today the amount of power it produces for the size of it’s engine is enough to match the Honda RC211V.
Amazingly one man has devoted six years of his life to creating an exact replica of the £235,000 racer and in this week’s MCN, out December 17, we bring you an eight-page supplement detailing the development of the bike.
We’ve also raided our archives to bring you this recording of the original Honda six as it warmed up for one of it’s many GP races in the 1960s.
Click the link at the very bottom to hear the six cylinders scream in either Windows Media format (WMA) or Quicktime format (MOV).
