Ride-ins to Hawick

Hawick:

I have spoken to Inspector Murray of Hawick Traffic Police dept. and the latest arrangements for Steve’s funeral are as follows.

It is planned to set a side the Common Haugh car park in Hawick for bikes. The High street will be closed for the procession to pass and the bikes will be led out of the car park by the police to join the cortege. Weather permitting, and as there is virtually no parking at Southdean, a field will be set aside for parking.

They are aware that many bikers will not only want to pay their last respects to Steve but make it an event and would appreciate it if we could time it to arrive in Hawick as early as 10am.

Might I suggest that all riders coming from the south meet up on the Kilngreen Car park in Langholm, (just north of Langholm on the A7) and ride in together.

Newcastle to Hawick:

I am planning to ride up to Hawick from Newcastle for Hizzy’s memorial, so would be happy to meet up with other bikers in Newcastle beforehand. Ben

North Yorkshire to Hawick:
