Hislop’s funeral announced

British Superbike champion Steve Hislop is to be buried in his home town just over a week after he died in a helicopter crash in the Scottish borders.

Hislop’s mother, Margaret, announced that the funeral of the two-times British champion and 11-times TT winner will take place at Teviot Church, Hawick, on Thursday August 7, at 12:30pm.

After the service Hislop will be laid to rest at Southdean cemetery, near Bonchester.

All are welcome to meet afterwards at the Horse and Hounds, Bonchester for refreshments. But Mrs Hislop requested family flowers only with all donations to the Steve Hislop Memorial Fund to be collected at the church or sent to Steve Hislop Memorial Fund, c/o Cartersport, PO Box 150, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, DL6 3WZ.
