Update: Your views and pics from Skeggy

1 of 1

The last beers are being supped, the shelves long cleared of aspirin – the weekend’s Skeggy madness is slowly giving way to the dull thump behind the eyes that’s reality. But you can help us stretch it out a bit longer by sending us your pics from the MCN Autumn Spectacular.

Here’s just a few of the efforts we’ve received so far, but we want more. Send them to as JPEGS and we’ll publish the best ones and give you a credit. We’ll add to this collection as we get them throughout the week.

For those of you who weren’t there, we reckon undisputed highlight of the event was the fattest man in Ska music, Buster Bloodvessel and his Bad Manners.

The topless lady in the white PVC nurse’s uniform and boots who joined him on stage was pretty decent, too mind…but tell us what you think were the high, or low points of your weekend and how we can make the next one even better.

E-mail your pictures and comments to dave.batchelor@emap.com

Clifford e-mailed us to say: ” I would lie to congratulate MCN on organising a superb weekend.

” The live bands were excellent as was the stuntshow, Steve Parrish and his guests. All-in-all it was great value, great fun and I can’t wait for the next one! ”

Julie Richards wrote to say: ” Just got in from the MCN weekend at Butlins – had a fab time can’t wait for spring! Excellent entertainment, fun, food, accommodation – all good actually! ”

MF Ramsey agrees: ” WOW! You out did your self this time with great bands and loud music. Me ears are still ringing! Loved it all, even the ticket for the small number plate didn’t give me a downer.

” I was on a high all the way home and am gonna frame the ticket as it just topped what was a fab weekend. Thank you MCN, and see you in May. ”

Samantha Fisher wrote to dave.batchelor@emap.com to tell us: ” Well Done AGAIN!

Pity it wasn’t better supported – people out there just don’t realise what they’re missing.

We can’t wait for April 2003, make sure the Steve Ferringo band are back again – they were superb! ”

That theme was echoed by Andy, and he had a word for Lincolnshire police: ” Thanks for another mad weekend at Skeggy, great times had by all (except for the bloke in the apartment under us who binned his bike).

And a big ” thank you ” to Lincolnshire police. It was good to see them making an effort setting up stands, talking to all us biker types even joining in the stunt show. So why f*** spoil it by giving my mate a £30 fine for a small plate, 50 metres from the entrance to Butlins on his way home?

” He was then stopped twice more before leaving Skegness – not a good advert for police/biker relations. Okay, he had an illegal plate but what is wrong with a telling off? It was a biker’s meeting after all.

” We will all be back next year for more fun in Skeggy, just make sure it’s not just the copper’s foot that gets flattened in the stunt show! ”

Cheers

Andy
