The gang, said by police to be responsible for in excess of 600 thefts was given a range of sentences, ranging from a total of three years imprisonment to a fine of £1200.

Babis says: ” Once again the justice system in this country takes the piss and shows everyone, especially bike thieves, that crime does pay, and the profits are tax free as well.

” Community service? What an absolute joke. How about public whippings at Trafalgar Square? ”

And Greenpro agrees: ” These jokers who got ” community service ” (ho ho) are laughing all the way to the bank.

” And the two blokes who got ” three years ” will be out in 18 months. They’ll simply set up again and everyone knows it. And while they’re inside they’ll be honing their bike nicking skills from all the other nurks in there. ”

But Passedit reckons there’s a wider issue: ” I wonder, who is it that kept these people in business? ”

Which strikes a chord with ida71u: ” Justice Sucks. Passedit, has a point, whilst the justice (or is that ” jokiest ” ) system sucks & lets scum walk whilst crucifying others.

” Just remember for them to steal around 600 bikes, some other scumbag has to be buying them. probably fuelled by the track day boom. ”
