Latest news on the dark visor debate

1 of 1

The doors have just closed on the latest meeting of the BSI visor committee, the body charged with examining the relaxation of the laws on dark visors.

Alan Goodman, a rider, and member of the committee, who has been keeping MCN abreast of the latest developments, has just posted this update on our News chat board.

” Just got back from the BSI meeting. Thanks very much to Tony Carter (RoSPA’s chief examiner) for attending and supporting us.

” We’ve been told not to give any details of the meeting (they were pissed off with me for speaking to MCN – I have told them that I decided to do so after getting nowhere by playing by the rules for bloody years!) so I have to be a bit careful.

” All I can say is that the BSI committee has given its official response to the DTLR consultation, and of course the response is in support of 18% visors for daytime use only. DTLR will not make any comment on their position until after the end of the consultation (14th June).

” They will then make recommendations to the Minister who will make an announcement. Things are still looking good! As soon as I can tell you any more, I will. ”
