Alligator bites back

Twenty six years after the idea first raised its head, a radical sportsbike is about to go into production.

The Gurney Alligator has been in the pipeline since 1976, and a final version was unveiled last week. Powered by an air-cooled Honda 650cc single, it promises to ride like nothing else thanks to its feet-forward seating position.

The idea is to have a lower centre of gravity to allow harder acceleration and braking without wheelies or stoppies
