Erik Buell, the man behind the Buell range of bikes, has been inducted into the National Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame in America. But who would you nominate for a UK Hall of Fame?

Steve345 has nominated Joey Dunlop and John Deacon for their race achievements, while iwmartin says John Bloor deserves a place for reviving Triumph.

colin148 reckons Al Melling should have a place: ” for the sheer entertainment value of his ideas. A V8 Norton, who else could think of it? ”

748essex reckons room would have to be made for Barry Sheene, Mike Hailwood and Carl Fogarty. Slim shady suggests Eddie Kidd and Dougie Lampkin.

Buell joins names such as Harley’s Willie G Davidson (a former MCN Awards Lifetime Achievement winner), Easy Rider actor Peter Fonda and custom legend Arlen Ness.

He won this year’s ” Industrial ” award, there are categories for other classes ranging from Promotion to Leadership, too.

Nominations can be submitted on the museum’s website or by post, and winners are selected by a committee of motorcycle enthusiasts drawn from across America.

Buell’s ceremony and induction breakfast took place in Daytona Beach on Wednesday.
