motorcyclenews.com’s sub-editor David Batchelor was racing at Snetterton on Sunday, grabbing a 25th in race one and an 18th (out of a field of 35) out of the bag on his debut in the Bemsee Rookie 400 class.

His best lap was a 1:27.18 – not bad considering his Honda VFR 400 would only pull 113mph down the back straight – he forgot that when he removed the speedo, he also re-enabled the grey-import’s speed limiter!

Congratulations to Frank Webb from Ferndown, he wins a box of motorcycling goodies for predicting most closely our man’s finishes. Frank guessed our man would finish 23rd and 19th.
