Industry open day for kids at NEC Show

The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCI) is issuing an invitation to schools nationwide to take part in Youth Day 2002.

The event is taking place at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre on Thursday, November 21 during The International Motorcycle & Scooter Show. The idea is to offer them an insight into bikes both as recreation and as a potential source of employment.

MCI is organising the event in conjunction with charity UK Youth, which runs motoring education projects throughout the country, and wants schools around the country to bring groups of young people to the event.

This year’s event has three themes, careers, road user education and sports. MCI will also be giving an award on the day to a young person who has made a significant achievement in the field of motorcycling in the last 12 months.

Tickets for Youth Day 2002 cost £6 per pupil and guardians go free. For more information, bookings and to nominate a pupil for The Outstanding Achievement Award call Anna Rogers on 0870 330 7821.
