Dainese cuts prices on new range

Dainese’s updated range of jackets are around £50 cheaper than the 2001 models they replace.

Dainese sales chief Vittorio Cafaggi said: ” We are not known for being cheap. But we’ve looked very hard at all our processes to make them more efficient, while our quality control remains the same. ”

Cordura jackets with Gore-Tex waterproof and breathable membranes started at £299 last year, but this year’s range includes the £249 Skorpion.

Part of Dainese’s Touring range, the Skorpion comes in sizes 34in to 54in. A ladies style is in 30in – 42in. Colours are black, beige/black, blue/black and red/black.

But it’s the Signature jacket, at £279.99, which shows how the firm is diversifying its products. It’s aimed at touring and commuting riders. A new Nespola fabric is used for the outer material, which is in the same class as Cordura for abrasion resistance, but is a lot more flexible. And there’s a new material beneath the Gore-Tex in the lining for lightweight non-bulky insulation, again to make it easy to wear.

It’s in 34in – 50in, and the ladies sizes are 30in – 42in and come in a totally different cut. Colours are red, black and green.

The £349.99 Tallin jacket has a Gore-Tex lining, but Dainese is also offering it with its own Dry-line membrane at £199.99. The Tallin is styled like the Imatra leather jacket, in green/black, red/black, grey/black and blue/black, sizes 34in – 50in, ladies 30in – 42in.
