Infamous speed camera moves

A speed camera in Brighton has been moved after a deluge of complains from motorists.

The camera had been dubbed as the sneakiest in Britain by Radio Five Live, as it was placed immediately behind a tree on the main road into Brighton.

However Brighton and Hove Council and Sussex Police had another reason to move the camera. They have been approved to use money from camera fines to fund new sites. This requires all cameras to be visible, and warning signs to be in place.

The bad news is that 18 new cameras will be installed by April, with 24 more during the next financial year. That will make 42 new cameras throughout Sussex.
