The all new R6 revealed

Fuel injection, more power and a fresh look is what Yamaha has lined up for a crisper and even more aggressive R6 in 2003. And thanks to our factory sources, you can read all about it in the new MCN, out August 7.

We’ve seen top secret photos of the bike and based on them we’ve used computers to produce a clearer image.

The new bike sheds its rounded lines for a sharper image, closer to its R1 sibling. The R6 is no bloater, but a strict diet has brought its weight right down and there’s a sexy black frame just like the litre bike.

In the latest MCN there’s also all the latest news, sport and features, including: a look at the future of the FireBlade – how the prototype bike spotted at the Suzuka Eight Hours race could shape the next generation of the legendary machine.

It’s been Europe’s best-selling bike, but what makes Suzuki’s SV650 such a hit with British buyers? We ask 18 different readers what sold them on the sweet middleweight.

And in a Neil Hodgson special, not only do we cane the man’s number one race bike around Brands Hatch, we also get his help on how we can all improve on trackdays and a first look at the 999 factory machine he’ll be championing next year.

We pitch Honda’s super-commuter CB500 against the bonkers CCM R30 supermoto to find out which gives you more smiles per mile and there’s a sideways look at the Suzuka Eight Hours race.

There’s all the latest news from the sports world, including: first pictures of the new Ducati MotoGP and WSB bikes, Jamie Whitham’s fight back from his Brands injury, and Sean Emmett’s switch from 998 to R1 power in MCN British Superbikes.

It’s all in the latest issue of MCN, out Wednesday August 7. Don’t miss it.
