Last chance to book for TT

1 of 1

This year’s TT has broken a record – six weeks before it even begins!

Organisers say that every race is over-subscribed and only the most determined fans will now find anywhere to stay on the Isle of Man.

” In all we have received 625 race entries, ” said TT co-ordinator Mike Ball. ” There are 113 in the Formula One alone. ”

Following the cancellation of last year’s TT due to the foot and mouth outbreak, it seems racers and fans of the most famous bike festival in the world simply can’t wait.

Peter Williams, 58, of Birmingham, booked for last year, but carried his ferry crossing and accommodation over when he learnt the 2001 event was off. He said: ” I was gutted when it was cancelled, so I can’t wait to get there this year. I just need my TT fix and this year is going to be awesome. ”

Much of the entertainment is still being planned, but the traditional Mad Sunday street party will be on, Bushy’s beer tent will be at Douglas and there’ll be official –and unofficial – stunt shows.

The Steam Packet Company says there a few places left on certain crossings, but it expects these to be gone within the next 10 days. And if you’re prepared to travel without your bike, a few flights are available for £120 return. The Isle of Man Tourist Board is also willing to help anyone find accommodation. Details:
