Accessories

HONDA has more or less grown a new department to keep up with the demands of the modern rider – Honda Accessory Corporation.

The job of HAC staff will be to offer riders a complete range of totally integrated extras for their machines, instead of having to pick and choose among aftermarket parts.

The new VFR and Hornet 900 will be the first bikes to benefit from the new accessories, with a range of items Honda expects to appeal to typical buyers. The advantage, of course, is that the extras are designed alongside the bike, rather than as add-ons at the end, so they should offer the best fit and convenience.

For the VFR you will be able to add anything from a higher screen, heated grips and a water-resistant cover, to a full luggage set. For the Hornet you can add on a centre stand, engine guards (mushroom style crash protectors) and a mini clock for the dash. For both bikes a U-lock is available to fit under the seat, though in these days of bike theft many will think that should be a standard part.

A full list will be available from Honda dealers, from December for the Hornet and February 2002 for the VFR.
