The 2.5-litre V-twin… from Britain

1 of 1

This is set to be the biggest-bore twin in production… and one of the most exclusive.

The British designed and American-funded 2500cc twin is code-named the 152 (because it displaces 152 cubic inches).

Designed by Al Melling, the engine is running (and you’ll hear it here on the site on Monday) and the first whole bike is almost completed. It is expected to make around 120bhp and tractor-pulling 130ftlb of torque.

More classically custom-styled than, for example, Harley-Davidson’s V-Rod, we want to know what you think of it. Have your say by following the link, right.

Al Melling is the man who is also still trying to bring us the 1500cc V8 Nemesis superbike. His designs and prototypes for that bike emerged three years ago. They haven’t been abandoned.

The 152 won’t be in show rooms for at least two years and when it does it’s likely to come with an off-putting price tag of cost to £25,000.

It is aimed mostly at the American market and only around 250-500 will be built each year.

Melling said: ” The deal is done. We expect the bike to be launched within the next two years but we can’t reveal the company behind it. ”

Don’t forget, we’ll be adding a soundfile of this huge and (as yet) unsilenced engine on Monday.

For more on this bike, see MCN, published on November 7.
