Want some advice? Take your own drinks to Brands!

SUPERMARKET giant Sainsbury’s may have come up trumps with a temporary marquee-cum-store on-site at Brands Hatch, but that doesn’t mean there will be unlimited supplies of drink and food tomorrow – so our advice is to take your own where possible.

Between Thursday lunchtime and this morning, the tent store had sold well over 500 cases of lager to campers and punters – that’s 12 big cans a case – and the manager Rob Lewis said: “We’ve not known anything like it – this is like Regent’s Street at Christmas! Our staff have been working 18-hour days.

“We think we’ll run out tomorrow, and that’s despite having a articulated lorry load of chilled cases out the back. We’ve got big stocks of cokes, ice and food like burgers too, but that’s going just as fast.”

So, take some of your own supplies in a cooler tomorrow if you can. The last thing you want in the baking sun is an hour-long queue for an ice-cold drink, just to have the last one sell to the person in front of you.
