Brands Hatch Sunday road and weather report

1 of 1

THE roads near Brands Hatch are busy, but not as bad as last year. That’s the report from the Kent police, who have learned lessons from last year to manage the traffic and hopefully avoid the worst of the queues.

The roads around the track are moving, albeit slowly, while the M25 is clear up until the junctions to come off for Brands where it slows – the queue from the M25 to the track entrance is now about one hour along for cars drivers.

An accident this morning, not believed to be related to the races, forced the closure of the M2 motorway between junctions one and four, but it should be open again soon. And last night police were forced to attend a fatal road accident involving two bikers, one of which was pronounced dead at the scene.

The weather is good, slightly overcast for the moment but clearing up fast, and very muggy.
