Watch Karl Harris lap Brands and hear why he wants a GSX-R1000

1 of 1

Come on board with Karl Harris as he canes Crescent Suzuki’s new GSX-R1000 around Brands Hatch Indy circuit. You may have already seen similar machines on track days or on the high street, but we guarantee you haven’t seen a perspective like this from a machine like this. You can also hear commentary from the young star of Suzuki’s supersport campaign.

We have two files for you to down load. Click on the links on the right to access them. The first is our exclusive on-board video, and the second is a sound file of an interview with Harris on his season so far and his hopes for the future.

We’ll bring you as close to riding this special version of Suzuki’s GSX-R1000 around the famous Kent circuit as you can get. Unless you’re on the Crescent Suzuki payroll that is.

Because this awesome machine is Suzuki’s working version of their new British Superbike GSX-R1000. Weighing close to the weight limit of 162kg (356 lbs) and putting out over 180bhp at the back wheel, short shifting is the order of the day if you want to keep the front wheel on the Tarmac.

You’ll need to watch this several times to take it all in. Try to keep one eye on the digital display; not only does it give you rpm but also gear selection. Harris will talk you through his turning in points on the Indy circuit.

With the new rules permitting manufacturers to enter litre machines like Suzuki’s GSX-R1000 to compete with a full superbike chassis and superstock engine mods, many pundits are already predicting this bike will take Suzuki to the title. And on the basis of this evidence who are we to argue?
