Strange but true

Here’s our latest round-up of motorcycle-related madness from an increasingly odd world.

FRANCE: Inspired by the Starboyz and their fur-covered FireBlades, this French biker seems to have taken the idea a bit too far. He’s still a bit down in the horsepower stakes, though.

AMERICA: Benjamin Sharpe was so concerned about his friend Robert Wheeler’s intention to drink-ride his Harley home that he stabbed him in the back. Sharpe claimed he did it to prevent him committing the offence! Wheeler is recovering in a Georgia Hospital, Sharpe faces a charge of assault and battery with intent to kill.

CROATIA: Wimbledon winner Goran Ivanisevic is riding around on a scooter after his mate wrote off his £100,000 Porsche. Jozo Dumanic borrowed the 911 Carrera when he was at a party held by Goran to celebrate his victory, but lost control and smashed into another car in their home town of Split.

JAPAN: Two teenagers have been arrested for breaking into a police station. The youngsters broke into Abiko station to try to retrieve their friends’ motorbikes, which had been confiscated earlier by police.
