Bulldog Bash now on

Picture a cross between Ibiza, Brands WSB, Reading Festival and a tattooists’ convention and you’ll get an inkling of what’s going on near Stratford-upon-Avon from Thursday to Sunday this week.

From the time the gates open, until thousands of red-eyed, shell-shocked refugees stagger from their tents on Sunday, this is the place to be if you want you music loud, your bikes mad and your women naked.

The music kicks off on Friday night, when top bands Feeder and The Wildhearts hit the stage. Or you could sway over to the trance tent and spill your beer to a different beat. Saturday night gets even better, when big-name acts, Terrorvision and Reef step up.

But don’t think this is just a glorified concert. During the day it’s the bikes that are the centre of attention. Turn up on two wheels and you can race your mates down the strip in the famous Run What Ya Brung. Then watch the professionals do it on Top Fuel drag bikes that cover 0-100mph in less time than it takes you to change into first.

During the weekend you can even get your bike soaped down by a topless babe with a chamois!

With stuff like that going on, the Bulldog Bash is definitely an event you’re unlikely to forget. Just be careful you don’t succumb to the potent combination of 24-hour beer and a wide range of body-piercing and tattooing tents or it won’t just be memories you’ll be taking home with you.

The Avon Raceway is in Long Marston, five miles south of Stratford on the B4632. Tickets for all three days, including camping, are £35 on the gate.
