Best classic-looking motorcycle tyres

Q. I have two bikes wanting new tyres – a 1979 Honda CB650Z and a 1998 Honda CB500S. I am not concerned about tyre wear, wet weather performance, or achieving the classic look, all I need is the best performance tyre you can recommend.

A. The bikes might be 19 years apart, but you can fit the same tyres to both machines, and the best of the bunch are the Avon Roadriders and Bridgestone BT45s. Both tyres come in a huge range of sizes to fit most older bikes. The Avons have slightly better performance and therefore are not as long lasting as the BT45s.
