Tyres for a Kawasaki VN1600 Classic

I am trying to source a rear tyre for my Kawasaki VN1600 Classic, a 170/70 x 16 Bridgestone G722. I have trolled through pages of Google search, but have been unable to locate one. I have just put on a new Bridgestone front and I don’t want to junk it.

As we covered before Bridgestone have supply problems in the wake of the earthquake. However, Avon have been testing tyre fitments for the VN1700 and last week they approved their 180/65 x 16 Avon Cobra tyre for the rear. Both the 1600 and 1700 have 4.5-inch rims and will take the 180/65. They have only tested it in conjunction with the Avon Venom. X front, but you can always store the Bridgestone for your next tyre change when Bridgestone supplies should have resumed.
