Why is my front tyre wearing unevenly?

Q. I have a Kawasaki ZX-10R with a Metzeler front motorcycle tyre which has worn around one side only, similar to tracking wear on a car tyre, with the wear starting from the centre of the tyre. Tyre balance perhaps?

A. If the bike handles predictably and you haven’t had a spill it’s unlikely to be a kinked chassis or twisted forks. If the front wheel isn’t vibrating it’s not the tyre balance.

Road camber creates unequal wear and that gets worse if the tyre is underinflated, so check those pressures regularly.
