New MCN Sport out now! Kick off the season with your full 2021 MotoGP Preview

They say you sometimes have to look back to be able to move forwards – and never has that been more accurate in MotoGP than during 2020 and 2021.

Normally, the MCN Sport team would compile a season review issue to close out the year, followed by a season preview issue in Spring to usher in the new year’s racing.

But things haven’t been normal for a while now, and because the MotoGP season ended so late and the new season is now looming large on the horizon – albeit with an already Covid-disrupted new calendar – this new issue of MCN Sport serves to do both jobs in one glorious 116-page edition.

The extraordinary 2020 season of racing produced such unpredictable results, with so many different winning combinations that took everyone by surprise. While it could have been a disastrous season, it actually proved to be one of the greatest of all time. Riders would win races one week and not even feature the next – as you can relive with our season review section.

The only hint of predictability seemed to be the incredible consistency of Joan Mir and the Suzuki that put him in such a strong position for the title before he’d even manged to secure his solitary race win of the championship.

Going into 2021 there are some big changes on the grid: Pol Espargaro now at Repsol Honda but there’s still a huge question mark over injury-hit Marc Marquez; Jack Miller and Francesco Bagnaia now lead Ducati’s charge; Fabio Quartararo swaps places with Valentino Rossi at Yamaha – and just what will Rossi be able to do on the satellite M1?

Everyone is aware of how Mir won the title, where the Suzuki’s strengths and weaknesses are – and what it’ll take to beat the title winners of 2020. But with every race being so unpredictable in 2020, it seems there’s every chance that 2021 will deliver even more suspense and drama.

This rammed issue also sees the team take a look back at the legendary King Kenny Roberts’ career as he reveals his take on the state of GP racing, while also profiling the seemingly unstoppable World Superbike champion, Jonathan Rea, as he targets title number seven.

And don’t forget about British Superbikes – the world’s best domestic series – as it enters a new year of home-soil racing action, nor the crazy world of World Endurance racing, which is profiled from the new Yoshimura dream team through to the bikes that dominated the series’ X-Formula.

It’s the ultimate one-stop guide to what is set to be another thrilling year in motorcycle racing.
