What's it like riding the Kove 800X? Find out here...
Tested by Michael Guy
After spending 2024 on the Suzuki GSX-S1000GX I was keen to get back on an adventure bike, as I missed being able to ride off-road. The middleweight adventure class is the best of both worlds, more than comfortable enough to do big road miles but light and agile enough to do some meaningful off-roading.
The Kove is new to the market, but the spec sheet suggests that it’s more than comparable to its Yamaha, KTM or BMW rivals. But being a new manufacturer there remain a lot of question marks over what it’s like to live with, servicing and reliability. To find out if it is a match despite its significantly lower price tag, I’m planning to ride everything from muddy green lanes through to the fast lane of the motorway.
I’ll be heading to the TT on it as well as multi-day rides on the TET (Trans Euro Trail) loaded with camping gear. I expect to do around 8000 miles, so feel it will be a test of whether it really can challenge the established elite.
