MCN Fleet: Husqvarna 701 Supermoto questions answered

1 of 1

I’ve covered 2000 miles on my long term Husqvarna 701 Supermoto since taking delivery of the bike in March and while it’s taken some getting used to after last year’s bike, I now feel much more at home on the big single.

I opened up the floor to our Facebook users to ask questions on my experience with the Husky to date.

Gary Leach: How the hell have you managed to keep your licence on that thing?!

I never break the speed limit or do anything silly, officer.

Jan Poerschke: Would you like to have the kawa back?

I miss the practicality of the GTR, especially since my car is off the road, but the GTR was no fun and made filtering on the commute a pain.

Robert Jönsson: How comfortable is it to ride more long distance trips?

Despite the seat feeling rock hard it’s quite comfortable, my only issue is the complete lack of wind protection. 100 miles is enough to give me a sore neck or tension headaches for a day or two after.

Mike Jenner: As an SM is it a bit soft?

This is the first supermoto I’ve ridden, so unfortunately I can’t comment. It certainly doesn’t feel hard and the ride would best be described as plush.

Noel Martin: If you have by chance swung a leg over the KTM 690 Duke (especially the 2016 version) how does the Husky compare?

I had a 690 as my long term test bike in 2012 nd while the engine is the same, the Duke is a much more well-rounded motorcycle. It’s comfier, more practical and much easier to get on with as an everyday bike.
