2024 Yamaha MT-09 Y-AMT, brand new and unregistered. Supplied with 2 years warranty including breakdown cover from RAC. Sold with full tank of fuel and OTR costs included in price. Its not like anything you've ever ridden before, and you will never want to ride any other way again! Yamaha's new Y-AMT transmission has landed and begins life in the stupendously excellent MT-09 - we couldn't have asked for a better introduction! How does Y-AMT work? The bike has a single clutch (unlike DCT) and works via electric motor to deliver seamless shifts in just 0.1 seconds. Shifting is done via a seesaw switch on the left side - no clutch lever or footshifter to be seen! The 3rd gen quickshifter on this bike allows you to shift gears almost any time, including down on open throttle and up on closed. Y-AMT offers two modes "AT" and "MT". In AT the bike shifts its own gears in a twist-and-go style. The rider can interrupt and change gears up or down at any time. The bike holds that change for a time, then reverts back to auto. AT features 2 ride modes "D" (low power) and "D+" (higher power holds onto gears longer too). In MT mode the bike is very similar to a regular MT-09 offering regular manual shifting controlled by the rider. If you leave the bike in high gear and come to a stop the bike will auto shift down and won't let itself stall - handy for lazy bar stewards. Swapping between AT and MT is available anytime - simply close the throttle and flick the switch. MT features all the same rider modes as the standard MT-09 including Rain, Street, Sport and 2 customisable setups. Additional weight on this bike is approx 3kg over the standard model.
