NORTON COMMANDO 961

This 2019 Norton Commando 961 Street is Number 6 of Only 50 produced is an excellent example of this highly exclusive, limited-edition motorcycle, which was created as a collaboration between motorcycling legend Henry Cole and Guy 'Skid' Willson of The Motorbike Show fame. It features bespoke tank, seat unit and exhausts. It is powered by Norton's own legendary fuel injected 961cc air-cooled four-stroke parallel-twin engine producing around 80hp, which sends power to the road via a five-speed transmission. Based on a Norton Commando 961 Sport Mk II, Cole’s Street specification was conceived by himself and Willson, and honed by specialist fabricators. The story of the bike’s development was documented in The Motorbike Show’s seventh series. A truly Exclusive motorcycle as Only 50 examples of the Norton Commando 961 Street were ever made. Hand Built to emulate the appearance of a 1970s ‘muscle bike’, the 961 Commando Street features a revised tank, bars, and seat, as well as a host of uprated Norton factory options. Each example was fitted with uprated Öhlins dampers, twin 320mm Brembo brakes with four piston callipers at the front and 220mm at the rear mounted on black alloy rimmed spoked wire wheels. This example is painted in deep glossy black hue with silver and gold accents inspired by the infamous JPS Norton Rotary race bikes of the early 1990s. There are also colour coded Norton logos on the fuel tank and engine housing. The bike is completed by a luxurious quilted Alcantara seat pad which is accented by white diamond stitching. It is supplied with all of its original handbooks and paperwork its also comes with a Personal Registration Plate DY06COM, This bike represents the culmination of a 40-year dream of Henry Cole to build his ultimate bespoke Norton motorcycle, the 961 Street harks back to the golden era of 1970s muscle bikes.
