Our example is one of the last to have left the factory back in 1979 (a fact verified by the Moto Guzzi Owners Club) The bike was purchased by its current owner in 2003 and has been painstakingly brought to the condition we now see it in. The bike is showing an original 36,284 miles and comes with two keys, the letter from the MotoGuzzi Owners club and numerous old MOT certificates and the original owners manual. The bike went to NBS Motorcycle Servicing near Stafford in 2019 for an engine restoration. £2,500 was spent on the engine plus a further amount on the following, Bearings - £60, Blasting - £60, Powder Coating exhaust pipes - £65, Engine Aqua blasting - £200, Tyres, tubes and fitting - £219, Painting - £450, Brake overhaul at Powerhouse including master cylinder - £260, Suspension legs - £146, Chroming - £40, Switches and levers – as recommended by NBS - £194. Since restoration the bike has been run regularly but not ridden. The Le Mans is considered one of the first factory produced cafe racers with the Mk1 the most desirable in the Le Mans range, this 45 year old motorcycle is a very usable classic with great performance, 71 bhp and a top speed of 130mph. It would make a perfect addition to any collection as well as being great fun on the open road.
