Our UK example is a rare factory upgraded series 2 edition and is number #304 of the limited run of examples produced. Its is unique by virtue of the fact it has covered just 947 miles from new. It contains the higher powered 150bhp engine as fitted standard in the 999 Xerox. The bike remains standard but benefits from having the Termignoni exhaust fitted and is supplied with the commemorative plaque, 3 keys and the book pack with service book and various old MOT's and service invoices showing the last service carried out in Nov 2024 at Pro-Twins inc new battery and Ducati belts, . The 999R superseded the Massimo Tamburini designed Ducati 916, 996 & 998 range of superbikes in 2003 and was produced through to 2006. This bike enjoyed great success in World Superbike and was raced in the series through the 2007 season. The 999R was designed by Pierre Terblanche amid much controversy over its styling, despite this it is still known as an extremely high performance race orientated motorcycle. With its traditional Ducati twin desmodromic valve actuated engine layout it has a linear power delivery with high power and torque figures available even at low RPM. Additionally with its high spec suspension and trellis chassis, its one of the finest handling motorcycles of its time.
