Well known motorcycle intercom manufacturer SENA, have just announced their latest flagship smart communication unit at EICMA 2024, to rival the Cardo Packtalk Pro, which was released earlier this year.

The big claim of the 60S, is that the unit can connect to an unlimited number of riders and has no range limit. New SENA Wave Technology uses VoIP connectivity, which means that (provided there is mobile phone signal), the clever tech will switch seamlessly between Mesh and cellular connection depending on which is available, allowing for continuous connectivity without interruption.

We're currently testing the Sena 60S and we'll bring you our full review as soon as it's ready.

It’s worth noting that the Wave app it uses to do this isn’t yet available outside of North America, with Sena saying it should be ready “by the end of the year”.

“At SENA, we’re motorcyclists first and foremost, and we understand how important it is to stay connected,” said Tae Kim, Founder and CEO of SENA. “With Wave, you can stay in touch with your group, no matter the distance. As long as there’s network coverage, you’re connected, without the range limitations of Bluetooth or Mesh.”

Paired with the new SENA Wave mobile app, you can see the positions of each rider in the connected group on a map within a 2km radius, it also features chat functionality with image sharing and there’s an SOS button for quick alerts in case of emergency.

The New Mesh 3.0 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity provides improved audio quality and connection stability, however if you are pairing with a rider with an older model of intercom, the 60S will switch to Mesh 2.0.

Equipped with new second generation Harman Kardon speaker technology, it provides a volume increase of up to 130% over the 50S, and the system adjusts the volume to each rider automatically to ensure that everyone is heard at the same level.

The 60S has some clever AI technology built in too, aimed at improving the rider’s experience, including automated background noise reduction when the microphone is active, allowing for clear communication, even when in loud environments, they say. The new AI developed with Fluent.ai is also claimed to improve the voice recognition capabilities, supporting more accents and languages, allowing the rider to more easily communicate with the device by voice alone.

That’s not all, there’s more handy features like IPX7 waterproofing, a built-in torch, two full mounting kits to allow use in two separate helmets and magnetic mounting. The unit takes 1.5 hours to charge using a USB-C cable and claims a battery life of up to 16 hours using Mesh and 22 hours using Bluetooth.

Available in four interchangeable cover designs; gloss black, pearl white, metallic silver an dark chrome. It’s not available in stores yet but can be pre ordered for £359 from November 1st.

You can pre order the Sena 60S here but we’ll be bringing you our first impressions review of the unit as soon as we can.
